At Subverted Norms, we’re all about shaking things up in the Web3 world. We started out on the rugged, windswept shores of the West Coast of Scotland, where the only thing more unpredictable than the weather was our ambitions. And while we’ve come a long way since then, we’ve stayed true to our roots as a fully remote, online company.

Whether we’re working from a cozy corner in a café or collaborating across time zones, we’re all about the freedom and flexibility that the internet provides. No borders. No boundaries. Just a group of innovators who believe the best ideas come from being free to think, create, and connect anywhere.

Our Story

At Subverted Norms, we didn’t just stumble into the world of merch and web design—we cannonballed into it with a mix of wit, wisdom, and just enough chaos to make it interesting. Our founders hail from wildly different (and delightfully wonky) backgrounds: programming, design, creative writing, management, and even hospitality. Translation? We know how to code a website and make a mean cocktail—talk about multitasking.

It all started with a simple idea: designing merch for scrappy, up-and-coming brands. But as we listened to our clients, we uncovered a big, glaring problem. These companies didn’t just want awesome merch; they wanted their own merch shops.

Insights

Problem was, the web design industry was a tangled mess of inefficiency. Most businesses had to juggle 3–5 different companies just to cobble together a website with images, copy, and programming—and that’s before anyone even touched their merch shop.

And those who did manage to get a shop? Well, they were shackled by monthly fees, locked out of their own systems, and left begging for access. Imagine being charged for fixing a typo. Yeah, no thanks.

So, we rolled up our sleeves, grabbed our metaphorical swords, and set out to slay these digital dragons. Enter: the Subverted Norms all-in-one, full-ownership model.

Results
