We built a merch shop for Presearch that lets users spend the PRE token they earn from searching, viewing ads, or running nodes—turning online activity into tangible rewards while supporting the platform’s development and marketing.

The Situation

Presearch is breaking new ground as a decentralized, privacy-first search engine. Users earn PRE tokens simply by searching, viewing ads, and contributing to the network—an unprecedented model in online activity rewards. However, there was no way for users to convert those tokens into real-world benefits. Presearch needed a shop that could accept PRE as payment, making the digital rewards tangible while staying aligned with their mission to compete with centralized search giants like Google.

We saw an opportunity to subvert the usual loyalty or rewards system: instead of tokens just sitting in a wallet, users could turn their efforts into physical merch. Additionally, 100% of proceeds from purchases went back into Presearch—funding marketing, development, and product expansion—creating a virtuous loop that benefits both the users and the platform. This required building a token-native checkout system and designing a shop that reflects Presearch’s privacy-focused, user-empowering ethos.

Results

The new Presearch merch shop makes the token economy tangible: users can finally redeem PRE tokens for exclusive items, reinforcing engagement with the platform. By channeling all proceeds back into development and marketing, every purchase becomes a direct investment in the growth and sustainability of Presearch.
